I'm not a fan of Christmas. To me it just means extra stress and work, but in my story Chances Are, I may have weakened just a little.
  Luke and Rebecca are near the end of their journey by the time the festive season arrives. They come together with so much uncertainty between them. And it is in Lower Nutton, the village at the heart of all the Nutt Hill stories, where the ending happens.
   In my head, I could see it: a cold crisp winter's night; snow hanging in the air just waiting for the right moment to fall; in the distance, children are knocking door to door singing Christmas carols. It's dark. A hush settles all around as families everywhere settle down for the night. There is a knock at the door and...
  Maybe I do like Christmas after all. I love Christmas Eve; all the excitement and expectation. All the tradition and calm overriding the internal struggles of the children determined to be good for one more night. Peace rests on a rural idyll and love is free to conquer all.
