Writers are notorious for giving themselves bad backs, writing on their laptops on the settee or a at the wrong height on an available surface, hunched up shoulders aching, you know how it is. But one day you get the crunch moment, when your back screams 'ENOUGH!' and you take stock and begin to make some changes.
For me, that came this year and these are the things that I've done. Nothing too dramatic or expensive, but my back is now happier than it has been in years and it was down to this...
The height is adjustable, so I can type at the right level for my shoulders. (PLEASE ignore the hideous collection of muddy football boots dumped by equally hideous children, to my right!)
Back straight, typing level, screen, up and feet warm.
Nothing can stop me now ...
she says. ;-)
