Hello there. Come on in. Zara Stoneley is here with me today, author of sensual erotica and we're going to have a lot of fun.

Zara, I hope you are ready for this - I know I am - Men! Let's talk about ideal men, those wonderful fictitious things. Who would be your ideal man?

Ah, so many men, so little time.
Hugh Jackman has to feature: voice, body… need I go on? Then my perfect man just has to have a sense of humour, you know that ‘James Bondish’ thing? I think the twinkly eyes and curly hair of Rufus Sewell would do nicely, and a Henry Cavill smile please (and a bit more of him if it’s available). Aragorn (I’ve gone fictional here – I’m not particularly mad about Viggo, just the mythical man!) has got that deep, intelligent side (for when I’m in the mood for the strong and silent type) and he can ride horses, and put his manly arms round me as he swings me into the saddle…. Okay that might all be quite a lot to throw into one man, but I’m willing to experiment until I get it just right.

Picture
Hah! I bet you are. Sounds good to me. But I think my skills at photo manipulation aren't quite up to that yet, so we'll just go with Hugh and imagine the rest with him, shall we?.......

AND she's back in the room. Sorry about that. A bit of a fave. So many pictures, so little bodily fluids left. Soooo, Teenage crushes, Zara. Someone hideous or embarrassing please; getting a little hot under the collar here.

Picture
David Essex. He made a lasting impression. Enough said.

Well he wasn't quite what I was hoping for, but, okay. I'm calm again now. ;-)

So back in the days when David was holding you close and gonna make you a star, what did you want to do with your life?

I wanted to be a vet, who wrote books (I think that’s already been done!).

I think so. :-)  Did I ever tell you about my hopeless careers convention at school when I was 14? I was thinking of being a vet, and this new computer thing had just been introduced into schools and it had a programme you could go on to find out your ideal job. So being good at the sciences I tapped in all the answers I had (thinking it was going to say vet): Likes animals, likes sciences etc and guess what it spewed out?... Butcher!  I ignored it.

So vet with books, eh? Well, you got half way there. :-) And what sort of books did you like reading back then?

Picture
I read lots and lots of books, of all genres. By my teens it was mainly thrillers, but the early books I remember were Black Beauty, Lord of the Rings, The Incredible Journey.

And now you write romantic erotica and very good it is too. I read the last one you brought out and thoroughly enjoyed it. So what is your latest book called?

Love is a Four letter Word.

KOBO SAINSBURY'S GOOGLE PLAY

Oh, I like it. Great cover. And look what I found in one of your reviews: Zara’s stories are wonderful, and yes, they are SMOKING hot (fans at the ready ladies!!) but Zara carries it off in a very classy way. I'll second that! Thanks for dropping by, Zara and good luck with your books. You can find Zara using the links below and buy her books online now. Go and get one!

Today I'd like to welcome Nikki Moore from Poole in Dorset, UK. Come on in Nikki, sit down and make yourself at home.
Nikki is an author with HarperImpulse who has her debut novel out any day now. So, Nikki, romance writing requires a lot of daydreaming about hot men, but can you tell me who would make it as your ideal man?

Picture
Gosh, that's a hard one! Erm ... In terms of looks that one's easy – Henry Cavill all the way - but with Tom Hardy's gorgeous, kissable lips! In terms of personality he'd have to have Chris Pine's easy charm, Channing Tatum's moves because I love to dance, and the integrity and passion of Ashton Kutcher; his speech to fans at the Teen Choice awards 2013 was inspirational! Check it out if you don't believe me https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FNXwKGZHmDc

Picture
Oh my word! So many hot men, so little space on the page. Going to have to squeeze a couple in.

My ideal man would also have to be warm, witty and spontaneous...  I'll stop there!

Not given it much thought then?!!! :-) Have you always been so difficult to impress? How about when you were in your teens?

Picture
My childhood crushes mainly revolved around lots of the men off Baywatch, especially Billy - I still have a thing about guys in tiny red shorts to this day - and Jason Donovan (who I was convinced I was going to grow up to marry)!

That'll be a 'no' then! LOL. Brilliant! So did you have the urge to ditch schoolwork and become a big-busted beach babe yourself?

Picture
Actually I wanted to be a writer, so I've achieved that goal! However I also have a day job in Human Resources at the moment, which I never planned to get into but love anyway. I think it's because it's about working with people, trying to get the best out of them and making sure they're happy. And that's good enough for me :)

Hurrah! Sense won out. That's great. And you achieved your ambition. Not many people can say they've done that in their lives. But before we get on to your writing, I must just ask you one more question. What were you reading back then? Can you think of maybe 3 books that were memorable from your childhood or teens, Nikki?

Some extremes here! My absolute favourite was To Kill a Mockingbird – the story really touched me. But I also grew up reading all of the Sweet Valley High books and adored the young adult Christopher Pike books. I loved his voice and Remember Me was my favourite - as a teenager I wished I'd written it!

So, to your writing. Crazy, Undercover Love is out in just 3 days! So exciting. Let's take a look at your cover.

Oooh, I want him in my stocking next Christmas!
So here it is:

Thanks you so much for dropping by, Nikki.

Today I have the great pleasure of introducing you to Dani-Lyn, an author from Long Island, New York, US of A. http://www.danilynalexander.com Welcome Dani-Lyn, pull up a chair and lets get chatting.

So, a romance author; you must do a lot of thinking about fictional men. What would your ideal man be like?

Let’s see…the ideal man would have the looks and body of Mark Wahlberg, the voice of Jon Bon Jovi, and the personality of Rhett Butler—a bad boy with a good heart.

Picture
You've hit the nail on the head there, I think. Lots of women say they like a bad boy, but I think they really want one with a good heart deep down. But Mark Wahlberg, huh? Lots of different looks for him. I hope this one will do...

So we've got a handle on your current daydream, but what about when you were a teenager, who was your crush back then?

Picture
My biggest childhood crush was Shaun Cassidy. LOL! That was a loooong time ago.

The Cassidys again! My they were popular. Passed me by, I have to say and you can't say that about many men if my teenage walls were anything to go by. ;-)
Wow, those are some white teeth!

So thinking back to when Shaun Cassidy was gracing your walls, what did you think you would be back then?

Picture
I wanted to be a dance teacher, which I was for more than twenty years.

Really? I considered that. I was a dancer up until I went to university. So you had a bit of a career change too, yay. Go us! And did you read much back then? What type of books did you like reading?

The Nancy Drew series by Carolyn Keene,  Gone With the Wind, by Margaret Mitchell and The Shining by Stephen King.

Ah, hence the Rhett Butler reference. So you had varied tastes with your reading, let's talk about your writing. I hear you've got a book out any minute.

Yes, Anonymous.

I've seen the blurb - romantic thriller by the sounds of it. Fantastic and you've got a Rafflecopter giveaway going on too. I'll put the link at the bottom. Thank you, Dani-Lyn, for dropping by today and all the best for your new release. You can find Dani-Lyn at the following sites and don't forget to enter the giveaway.

Today, joining me on the confessional couch, is the writer, Samantha Birch, from Hertfordshire, UK.

Hi, Sam. Pull up a chair and tell me, who is your ideal man?

Picture
Okay, paper bags at the ready ladies, but my ideal man really is my husband.

Bluuurgh!

Told you! We’ve been together nearly seven years and I’m still 100% mad about him! It’s the combination of brown eyes, sexy half-smile, strong arms, big manly hands, slightly rugged stubble, and world’s hottest ass (not that I’m biased) – he’s got a bit of a Mark Wahlberg look going on. It helps that he’s also a right charmer, my best friend and the funniest guy I know!
But if you must know my celebrity crushes right now..

Hurrah!

...I’d have to say Chris Pine is up there duking it out with Jake Johnson (Mr Popular versus Boy Next Door – don’t make me choose!). Tom Hiddleston is also making his way up the list (gotta love the Classy Guy) – I didn’t realise how watchable he was until halfway through the latest Thor movie when I just thought: If they kill him off, this won’t be worth watching…

Top 2 then... I've made my choice. What about teenage crushes?

Picture
Oh, so many! I had your straightforward Heath Ledger, Johnny Depp, Freddie Prinze Jr., Leonardo DiCaprio types, and then your embarrassing ones like Toby Ross-Bryant from that Pauline Quirke show, Down to Earth. Yeah, that was weird…

Okay, for confessing to that one I'm going to let you off and pull one of the others out of the hat... Oh, I know. Who didn't love Leo in Titanic? And what did you want to do with your life, when you were only a teen?

Picture
Author, or actress! I’ve always written in my spare time – mostly fiction, as it goes – and I trained as an actress from ages 13 to 18 and acted right up until I was 21. Then when I left uni I realised I had to make a choice: it was acting or writing. It was tough to pick from two things I’ve always loved, but writing means I can have the lifestyle I want as well as being fulfilled creatively. Plus I’m five foot tall and at 28 I still get ID’d buying wine, so I’m pretty sure I’d have been playing the naive teenage daughter for the rest of my life!

Could be a bit limiting. But so nice to have choices. And if you've always been a writer, I guess you've always liked books? What would you say were your favourite books as a child/teenager?

Bloomability by Sharon Creech (I devoured all her YA books)
The Baby-Sitters Club (Ann M. Martin), Sweet Valley High (Francine Pascal) and Anastasia (Lois Lowry) series.
The Bromeliad by Terry Pratchett

And I've never even heard of most of those. Sweet Valley High, I have. So many books out there, aren't there? Speaking of which... your lastest masterpiece is due for release any day now, isn't it? The High-Street Bride's Guide, out 24th of this month. Now Sam, I see you have written for all sorts of glossy magazines, but this book is the inside gen on how to get the beautiful wedding on a budget, right? What a 'must have' for any budding bride-to-be out there. Good luck with that.

You can pre-order Sam's book now for download and I'll leave you her links to catch up with her in cyberspace! Bye.
